San Fernando

Surrounded by a special landscape of salt plains and sea, a friendly Spanish town.
San Fernando is located south of the bay of Cadiz, with 96,000 inhabitants, this municipality belongs to the association of municipalities of the Bay of Cadiz, which are also the borders, the cities of Puerto Real to the north, Cádiz to the west and Chiclana de la Frontera to the east and south.
At first it seems to be a district of Cádiz, but it is a separate city.

The landscape is flat and dominated by the salt, the so-called salinas. It has two beaches, one on the Atlantic Ocean, beach Camposoto and the other on the Bay of Cádiz called Playa de la Hunt.
The municipality has a Mediterranean climate with average temperatures of 22 ° C, making it possible to enjoy the beaches for most of the year.

San Fernando is also known as the birthplace of one of Spain's most famous flamenco singers; Camarón de la Isla. So there is a lot to be found in this city about this singer. A beautiful monument, an almost life-size statue of Camarón, you can visit his singer, his grave, with fresh flowers daily, Venta de Vargas, where he performed a lot, the forge of his father and the peña de Camarón, where every Friday evening flamenco can be seen.
