Arola: suitable for people who have grown with their Ipod. You can eat with the local DJs. Informally, suitable for small groups.

Olsen: In this Scandinavian-style restaurant Madrileños dine by candlelight. Ask for a spot in the Igloo Room!

El Chaflan: Known for the unique creations of the chef Pablo Philipe. Minimalist decor.

MOOD: Titillating decoration and cuisine! Located on the edge of the center, but well worth the ride.

Lagrimas Negras: the cook who works here "pimps" the traditional Spanish cuisine to something new

DL's cocktail bar on the top floor of the hotel with its stunning views of Madrid from the terrace on the top floor

Loft 39: celebrity spotting! Even the Spanish royal family comes to eat here. Fine cuisine of Roberto Limas and design of Pascua Ortega.

Bodega de la Ardosa
In 1892, the bar is set up and ever since they pour the best Vermouth and tappes the most wonderful beer. With some nice music you can enjoy Tappas (raciones), including salmorejo, croquetas de bacalao and verduras a la plancha.

La Nueva
Specializes in small glass fresh beer with tapas. Marinated anchovies, Madrid-style tripe, tuna cakes, mussels and much more. If you're hungry you can order larger portions, this is called raciones. It is a typical old-fashioned tavern and it has not changed much since the opening in 1913. Go to the bar or try to find a place on one of the four tables.

Los Caracoles
They have the reputation to sell the best snails of Madrid. The secret is a spicy sauce that makes you crave for a drink. Another real winner in this tapas bar is the marinated anchovies. The interior suggests not too much, but the zinc bar is wonderful.

Taberna del Avapies
If you enjoy history, you're at the right place. Under the floor of this typical Madrileño tavern are 400 year old cellars, which were used during the Inquisition. The target audience is somewhat changed this place is now focusing entirely on lovers of tapas. The best on the menu is ajorriero bacalao (cod in garlic sauce), but the other tapas are also worth while. Besides the bar are some tables for when you just want to sit.

Cava de Don Pedro
This place is decorated like an old mountain tavern in the Pyrenees, with wooden beams, exposed brickwork and oak tables and chairs. Catalan specialties are served in small portions. A real delicacy is torradas, toasted bread with tomato, garlic and olive oil. All this with a good bottle of wine and you feel like a god in France. ?

Flamenco

Casa Patas
With five shows a week Casa Patas is without doubt one of the most important flamenco clubs of the city. It attracts top performers and true aficionados. All the stars of today have ever occurred here. The performances start around midnight and you can make a real night out if you also go here for dinner.

Cardamomo
The new flamenco style is a blend of traditional style with jazz, pop and Latin rythms. And that is the music here. The clients are young and stylish, it is therefore advisable to go "dressed". Twice a week, with live flamenco concerts. Very busy, but it is incredible!

Pakesteis: is a real rock and roll bar where the sound makes your eardrums vibrate. This is the perfect place for beer, beer, beer, leather jackets and rock and roll. Above the bar is a poster of Leno, one of the major Spanish bands of the `80.

Suristán: here you can hear all kinds of music, including flamenco. There are therefore many different types of people. This place is divided into two sections. One half has a few tables where you can sit and talk. In the other room is a bar and a stage that can be used for dancing or live concerts. Entrance must be paid, but it depends on who is performing and this includes a drink.

Cafe Central
This place became very quickly a legend in the jazz world. Every evening at 22.30 there is a performance. You can enjoy the music in a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by a beautiful interior. Big names from the jazz world like Ken Peplowski, Grant Stewart and Wynton Marsalis have performed here. Admission prices vary, but usually it is around € 10.00. This is or includes a free drink. Also in the afternoon you can enjoy a drink.

Honky Tonk
A popular bar with live music, where pop and rock concerts, theater shows and magic acts are held. The door policy is pretty strict and they prefer to let friends and their guests in instead of someone else. It's a huge thing with two floors and it is a time consuming process to get to the bar and get a drink. The atmosphere is always good and the music is well worth a visit. There is a cloakroom and valet parking available. Admission is free.

Clamores
This jazz club has been around awhile and has a loyal clientele who visit regularly. The evening performances are Monday / Saturday at 22.00 and on Sunday at 20.30. The sound system is excellent and the large stage is surrounded by tables and chairs where customers can enjoy a drink and the music. This club has been a while the scenery of the Spanish television show; Jazz Entre Amigos (Among Friends Jazz). Besides jazz other styles of music are being played. Normally, admission is free, in some cases must be paid for a live performance.
